We are DORJA.

Born from a transatlantic project, this London based rock band started to make some noise within the dirty rock scene back in 2016. With multiple European/UK tours and a successful debut album under their belt, DORJA have proven to be noticeable up-comers in the rock field. The band consists of professional musicians from all different walks of life. The mixture of different cultures and genders, as well as musical experiences, adds to their unique sound.

NEW RELEASE

The Re-birth of Persephone!

With a fresh and exciting new lineup in place, DORJA are ready to release their newest work into the world! Their second EP, titled Persephone, is due to be released on the 16th April 2021. Their first single 'Ghost Town' is due to come out on 12th March, followed by the second single 'Dust' in early April, before the full EP on April 16th.

With Persephone, the bands style has matured and developed in a way that can be described as a “signature sound”. We've seen the arrival of two new members Oliver Lee (Bass) and Alex Scheuerer (Guitar) which has helped shape a new image and modern sound for the band, but without losing any of the passion and raucous energy they already possessed.

Those five tracks have been written and recorded during the darkest year they have seen so far and it shows. With lyrics exploring subjects such as apocalypse and death, the general tone of this EP will be much darker than their past album ‘Gemini’. The tracks on “Persephone” still echo the hard rock roots of their previous album “Gemini', but bring a twist of fresh production and a deeper complex of songwriting. The new EP will certainly thrill their original fans, yet open doors for a newer audience.

What started as music therapy through the first lockdown quickly became an exciting outlet for these musicians already used to work remotely with their previous work. Spring 2021 is now the perfect time to unleash these five tracks as Persephone comes out from the Underworld again and a new cycle begins.
